Egbert is a dead pirate. His soul is currently trapped in a magical glassteel dagger, carried by Aetheflaed the halfling monk/rogue. He has an incredibly annoying voice, and isn't very bright. His chief concern is that Aethelflaed stay alive, because if she dies, his soul will be kicked out of the dagger, and Aetheflaed's soul will take its place. Egbert's soul would then be sucked into the Soul Jar--and he'd rather not go there.
